Retiring overseas is a wonderful way to save money on many things such as healthcare and taxes. However, if you have never been overseas before and unsure about it then go ahead and plan a trip overseas! If you’re really serious about wanting to relocate overseas when you retire then my suggestion would be to plan the trip for two or three months so that way you can get a good feel of the place you want to move into.
If you decide to go overseas for a couple of months it might be cheaper for you to rent an apartment for that length of time instead of spending the time in a hotel room. There are things that you’ll need to do daily such as the laundry and cooking. When you don’t want to be bothered with these things then you can hire temporary help from a local agency in that country. When you are overseas make sure to write down all of the places you enjoyed and keep a journal of the things that you did and didn’t like about it the most. After the trip is finished, go over those things that you wrote down in your journal and decide if it would be the best thing for you to do.
